Overlapping elements and controlling order

If you would like to overlap elements on your webpage, for example placing text on top of an image. This can be achieved in Webmanager by setting the Z-Index of each of the elements in the group.

  1. Click and drag your elements so that they are overlapping as required.
  2. Click the element that you would like to come to the front of the group
  3. You will notice in the top right hand corner of the Webmanager there is a text box with Z next to itundefined
  4. The default value will be 0. 0 Means that the element will be displayed by default at the back of a group of elements, to change this you simply need to enter a number higher than 0. Enter 10 in this example
  5. Click away from the group of elements you should now see that the element you have changed is displayed in front of the other elements it overlapps.
  6. The same principle works with multiple elements for instance with 4 elements you could set Z values of each to 0, 5, 10 & 15 respectively.
  7. The element with a z index of 15 will appear at the front and the element with a Z index of 0 will appear at the back

Z-Index is a CSS positional attribute that is controlled via Webmanager.
