A more efficient business is now more affordable

As each business is different, generic software will always have limitations, and with the gap between big and small businesses being in part attributed to the fact that small businesses are often not able to maximise the benefit of IT, bespoke software can make all the difference.

For many years, bespoke software was dismissed by small businesses as being too complicated to manage and far too expensive, but the internet has changed all this. Now, you do not need to manage servers in house, nor do you need an IT department to maintain software, but you can have a system that has been built around the way you like to do things, making it easier to use, and therefore making it more efficient.  

Automate your service and offer it online

We have helped several businesses automate the service they offer and offer it online in order to reduce time and costs.

ESP are a market research company. They collected data on behalf of companies over the phone and collated this information to create reports their clients could understand. They wanted a way to automate this process. We developed an online package that allowed them to collect data over the internet, store the information in a database and automatically calculate the results to display in nicely formatted reports.

Pearlcatchers are a coaching and training business specialising in the housing sector. They offered a 360 review service where employees were rated by their colleagues including managers, peers, themselves and those that reported to them. They originally handed out questionnaires for people to fill in by hand. Once they had the information, they began the laborious process of recording the results in order to create a report. They asked us to develop a package that would allow people to complete the questionnaire online and work out the results without any human involvement.

Both packages made the companies more efficient and allowed them to price their services more competitively.

 

Streamline your office procedures

Phoenix Training and Sales work exclusively for the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB). They work over the phone to arrange meetings between field advisors and potential clients. Having reviewed some generic telemarketing software products, they decided that as very few people in the company were confident with computers, this option was too difficult. Instead, they opted for custom made software that fitted in with their current working environment and would require less training.  

We created a system that ensured appointment makers were ringing potential business in the most efficient way, with more interested businesses being phoned first. A track of every single call and result was recorded in order to make the data more meaningful. This was combined with a diary system for booking appointments. Field advisors also had access to the diary and details of the phone conversation so they had more information when they met potential clients. The tracking of each call also meant that management could get real time reports on how the productvie the appointment makers are.
